Shelter
Walls, a roof, warmth in winter and shade in summer. The dogs are on open land today. This is the one thing that changes everything else, and it is the reason we are asking at all.
Food
Every day, for more than two thousand dogs. It arrives in sacks and it goes out by hand, carried by the local people who are there each morning.
Medicine and veterinary care
The veterinarian is already on the ground. What runs out is the supplies.
What is not on the list
Salaries. Offices. Fundraising overhead. Advertising. There are none of them to pay. For the dogs who leave, we also cover the treatment, the paperwork, the transport and the flight, so that the family adopting is asked for nothing but a home.
Who paid for it until now
The founder did, out of the proceeds of a business she closed and largely gave away. The foundation has never run a public fundraising campaign before this one. That is not a boast; it is the reason the asking is happening now.
Why now
Because a dog on that land does not have an indefinite amount of time, and because three hundred have already proved the other ending is possible. The full breakdown is here, and the dogs themselves are here.
